There will be a solar eclipse on July 22. Fortune tellers are predicting disasters but scientists say that there's nothing to worry about--it's just a natural phenomenon. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20090720/sc_afp/scienceastronomyeclipseasiatourismsuperstition

Once Upon a Mattress

Rehearsals are going well. I'm definitely getting a work out lol. Some of the dancing is a bit strenuous for this old gal but I'm a trooper and will keep up with the rest. Performances will be August 6-9 at Rock Solid Youth Center in Winona. As always, it's a fund raiser for them--support a great cause and get a good show. Tickets available at Rock Solid and both Midtown Foods in Winona.

Rock Fest

I went on the bus trip with the radio station. A great time was had by all. If you ever get a chance to join in on one of these trips, don't pass it up. The price was very reasonable especially since it included the bus ride. We saw Saliva, Seether, Bare Naked Ladies (this was my favorite of the night), and then Sheryl Crow--just a fantastic day.

disrespect or distress?

A Wausau WI man flew a flag upside down as a sign of distress. He's been denied a liquor license after spending $200,000 on a building and remodeling so that he could open a restaurant. The police took the flag from him just 4 hours before a July 4 parade and brought it back the next day. He's an Iraq war veteran and can't believe that this type of thing would go on in this country. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090710/ap_on_re_us/us_upside_down_flag
