stolen car

The #44 car did not make it for qualifying in Atlanta on Friday because it had been stolen.  The car was in a trailer not normally used to transport the car and had no identifying marks on the outside.  Someone made off with it at about 5:30 am from the hotel parking lot.  It was caught on surveillance video.  The car was found on a backroad about 20 miles from the hotel and the truck used to tow the trailer was found not far from the hotel.  The trailer and it's contents are still missing.  stolen race car

LLAP from space

American astronaut tweeted a picture from space saluting Leonard Nimoy.  It was the vulcan hand gesture for Live Long and Prosper.  A fitting tribute to a man who brought "space" into our homes.  LLAP

Duck Tales

I always loved the Duck Tales cartoons and now it's coming back.  In 2017 new shows will be aired.  All of the regular characters will be included in the new series.  Now if Capitol Critters would come back, I'd be ecstatic.  Duck Tales

RIP Spock

Leonard Nimoy passed away at the age of 83.  He will be missed by so many people.  He is mostly known for his role as Spock in the Star Trek series but went on to do many great things in his life.  RIP Leonard Nimoy

moving can be a pain

Even if you're just moving across town, moving is not something that most people are eager to tackle.  Packing, loading, transporting, unloading, and unpacking can be a daunting task.  Now think about moving a whole town.  That's what is going to have to happen for an island town of about 400 residents in Alaska named Kilvalina.  With the ice caps melting, the town is in imminent danger of being flooded.  So now comes the planning stage for moving knowing that a disaster could happen at anytime.   moving a town

Honey Boo Boo

Now that the family has gotten a taste of fame and lost it, they are looking to get it back.  They've been trying to sell their show to other networks.  TLC is not having it though.  They have threatened to take the family to court if they make money from another network before the contract with them runs out.  So until June, Honey Boo Boo's family best be careful what they do.  They've been paid for the entire un-aired season and need to stop being greedy.  Here comes...

Black River Bar and Grill Comedy

I am still amazed at the talent the Black River Bar and Grill is bringing to LaCrosse.  I've gone a couple times since the beginning of the year and the comedians are amazing.
Brad Ellis is from Kansas and we were fortunate to have him here in our little corner of the world.  He's been a guest on some great comedy shows.  He appeared at Black River Bar and Grill along with Maggie Faris
She was phenomenal!  She was loud and hit it hard right from the start.  Both had me laughing so much that tears were rolling.
Then last week I had the privilege of seeing
Mike Moses and Brad Tassell Mike made it clear that he didn't need the mic to make himself heard which meant he could pick on anyone in the audience.  Great show from him.  Then Brad Tassell took the stage and insisted that he wasn't quite ready to start his portion of the show but he had us all laughing from beginning to end.
Not only does the Black River Bar and Grill bring in the best comics but it's an intimate atmosphere and the comedians are willing to chat a bit after the show.  If you get a chance to attend one of their comedy nights, don't pass on it.  ~terrie b~  ,,=^.^=,,

tribute

A Police dog gets a tribute fit for his job.  Sultan was suffering from seizures and arthritis and was on his way to be euthanized.  He was given a final salute and an escort complete with flashing lights to the vet.  The 13 year old German Shepherd was excellent at his job and had retired at the age of 10.  In his career, he helped seize cash, narcotics, and capture suspects.  Officers gave a final pat or scratch to Sultan before giving him the escort to the veterinary clinic.   Sultan

lost necklace

Vicky Pyne's daughter gave her a necklace when they found out that the daughter was dying from cancer.  It had charms on it that were finger prints of Alice Pyne and her little sister.  Vicky wore the necklace every day in remembrance of Alice after her passing.  Now Vicky has lost the necklace someplace in New York and is asking for help from those who visit Times Square.  She's hoping that someone will find the necklace and return it to her.  special necklace

flowers from beyond the grave

Shelly Golay was surprised when flowers arrived on Valentine's Day from her husband.  Jim had passed away 8 months earlier.  After checking to see if her kids had done it, she discovered that her husband had gone to the flower shop and told them to make sure she got flowers every year.  romantic gesture

frozen swan

A poor swan apparently fell asleep and managed to get it's beak frozen shut.  Luckily rescuers were able to get the swan indoors to thaw.  If they had not, the swan would surely have died from lack of food.

home alone

David Wilson is the maintenance man at Many Glacier Hotel in Montana.  It closes in September and reopens in April.  Someone has to stay there to look after the place during the winter.  Whoever does this, is stuck there for the winter all by themselves.  This winter David got the chance and he's joined by his wife.  They keep a blog that is followed by many.  To them, it's a dream job even though there are some similarities to the Shining movie.  see hotel

Puppy Bowl XI

Every year I watch the BIG GAME!  The Puppy Bowl is the best.  It gives me something to watch on the first Sunday in February.  It's the most adorable thing I've ever seen.  Find out about the puppy bowl and don't forget about the kitty halftime show.
