RIP Cecil
Cecil the lion is no more. That's thanks to a heartless person who has more money than brains. Walter Palmer is a dentist from Minnesota. He paid over $50,000 for the "privilege" of shooting, stalking, and killing the majestic beast. Here's hoping that all of his customers find a new dentist and he no longer has the money to do stupid things. RIP Cecil

hold your sale at the police department
With all of the terrible things happening to people who have tried to buy or sell things online, local police departments are starting to open "safe zones" for the transactions to take place. Some are offering their lobbies or parking lots for the exchange. They feel that if someone has ideas about committing a crime while doing a buy or sell, they wouldn't agree to meet at a police station. In the towns where the police have done this, it has become very popular. buy/sell at the PD

Star Wars walk
Kevin Doyle is walking 645 miles to honor his late wife. But it's not just any 645 miles. He's walking from Rancho Obi-Wan to Comic-Con in San Diego. His walk began on June 6 with Kevin averaging 20 miles a day. And he's doing this dressed in full Stormtrooper armor. He's met curious people along the way as well as cancer survivors, their family members, and those who have lost one to the disease. His wife passed in 2012 from pancreatic cancer. She always told him that he was "such a dork." She herself was a "self-proclaimed geek" and they both loved Star Wars so Kevin knew this is what he had to do. He's bringing awareness and raising money to donate items to children with cancer. After Comic-Con Kevin plans to walk across the Golden Gate Bridge with a full garrison of costumed Stormtroopers before heading home. walk
