Harambe
There's been a lot of uproar over the shooting of Harambe the gorilla after a child fell into it's enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo. The video of the gorilla dragging that small child around is disturbing. I don't know if the zoo did the right thing or not but I do know that the child was definitely in danger whether the gorilla meant to harm or not, the boy was being hurt as he was thrown around. What I don't understand is why that negligent parent is not being punished. It's not easy to get into the enclosures at zoos so it took some effort for that boy to do it. He also informed his mother ahead of time that he was going into the moat. Zoos are a good educational experience but people need to realize that it can be a dangerous place if they don't pay attention to what their children are doing. Dangerous for the animals as well. I've seen kids throw things into the habitats...this is totally unacceptable. If kids can't behave, they don't deserve to go to zoos. RIP Harambe

MS804
Many theories have been given for the disappearance of flight MS804 but one by two Turkish pilots is a wild one. They claim that just about an hour before the plane went off of radar, they saw a UFO. It had green lights and passed them about 11:30pm on Thursday. Could a UFO be the cause of the downed aircraft? plane's disappearance

lucky dog
The owners of Ollie the Collie thought he was getting old when he became almost paralyzed. They took him to the vet to have him euthanized. It was a sad day but they felt it was best to put him out of his misery. Thanks to a Veterinary Intern who took a second look, Ollie is still with us. The Intern found a tick behind Ollie's ear and after it was removed, Ollie was his old self again. Saved just in time

teen arrested
In South Carolina a teen was arrested for writing a story about killing with a gun. With all the sensitivity today about shootings, that could be understood except that the story was written about killing a dinosaur. The teen, Alex Stone, wrote it in a Creative Writing class. He got creative and is being punished for it. Since dinosaurs aren't alive today, it's obvious that the story is fictional. why?

werewolf
A mythical creature, the werewolf, is making a comeback. And I'm not talking about the movies. A small town named Hull is living in fear after several sightings of the half animal-half man has been seen around the town. A paranormal group was brought in to hunt for it and say that they too witnessed it's presence. They didn't actually see it but did encounter a large animal in the brush that they couldn't identify. The huntings will continue during every full moon. scary creature

new band
I think I may have found my new passion. I've been looking for a band to follow and this might just be the one. I heard Raizin' Kain rehearse and my first thought was, "there's a lot of talent in this room." If you go see them, let me know what you think.

opossum
A baby opossum was found in a toilet in San Diego. Animal control was called to rescue the unwanted swimmer. After a second opossum was discovered in the home, a broken window was found to be their entry point. So no worries about opossums coming up through the pipes. Both will be released into the wild when they're big enough to fend for themselves. visitor

harassed in a bathroom
A Connecticut woman was in a bathroom when another woman started harassing her for being transgender. First, it's not ok to harass anyone for using the bathroom and second, she's a WOMAN in a WOMEN'S bathroom. This hysteria over transgender has to stop. Think about it this way...if a transgender goes into a men's bathroom wearing a dress, how disruptive would that be? It's much safer for her to use the women's bathroom.
And how about the women who take their sons into the bathroom with them? Some of these children are definitely old enough to use the bathroom by themselves but the mother feels it's safer for them to be with her. Where do you draw the line on safety?
Transgender people have been using their identified restroom for years and no one has ever had an issue with it...why now? stop the hysteria

Mother's Day gift
Not everybody gets a gift for Mother's Day. But when a present is given, the correct response should be "thank you." One woman didn't see it that way though. She said that her husband got her the wrong candy and flowers and decided to commit domestic battery because of it. She beat up her husband and ended up being arrested. That's a Mother's Day to remember. wrong gift

Teen excluded from prom
Jared Springer was excited to attend prom with his date. He has a brain tumor and is confined to a wheel chair. Jared missed three weeks of school after falling out of his chair. Three days before his prom, his parents purchased his prom tickets and Jared couldn't wait to join his friends at the school dance. The school board however, had other plans. Jared's parents were told that he couldn't attend his senior prom because of his absences from school. With the late notice, there was no way for them to meet all of the requirements demanded by the school board. There is some good news though; a special prom will be held for all students so that Jared can have his special night. prom

stuck rat
A man discovered a rat's head sticking out of an electrical socket. The rat's body wouldn't fit through the hole so there it stayed. Instead of freaking out or calling an exterminator, the man decided to save the poor little creature. He carefully removed the socket cover with a screwdriver and put the rat into a plastic container. It doesn't show if the rat was released into the wild but that's exactly what I would do. rat rescue

rescued
A dog went overboard near Hernando Beach in the Gulf of Mexico
while his owner had gone below deck to check on something. When he returned, his dog was missing. He searched as long as he was able but thought that he had lost his "baby" forever. Luckily another boater spotted something bobbing in the water and realized it was a dog when it swam toward his boat. The dog was reunited with it's owner at a Coast Guard station and everyone agreed that the only reason that the dog survived it's 3 hour ordeal in the water was that it was wearing a doggy life vest. lucky dog

Lock up the expensive stuff
I went shopping yesterday at a big box store. I wanted a small can of cologne because mine was empty. The thing was locked up behind glass so I had to get a person to help me. It was $2.98 so I certainly couldn't figure out why it was locked in a case but I waited quite a while until she got there so I could get one. After taking it out of the case, she informed me that it would be waiting for me at the register. What? Really? Did she just tell me that I looked like a thief? For a $2.98 spray can of cologne! I have decided that I will buy it online from now on because I'm certainly not going back to that store to ever buy it again and I'll probably get it a lot sooner.
