Some have moved past a rejection on American Idol to make it anyway. Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum, Colbie Caillat, Amber Riley (Mercedes Jones on Glee), and Robyn Troup (who is in the process of recording her first album) all auditioned for American and were rejected. Some didn't even make it past the first round. rejected
