Hershel McGriff came in 13th on Sunday in Portland, Ore. in NASCAR's Camping World West series. This puts him in the record books as the oldest driver to ever run in a NASCAR race. http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/blog/from_the_marbles/post/Score-one-for-the-old-guys-81-year-old-drives-i?urn=nascar,177514
A boom operator on the set for 'Robin Hood' starring Russell Crowe had problems with her car on the way to work one morning. It burst into flames and she complained that she would have to buy another one. Russell Crowe gave her enough money to get one. http://omg.yahoo.com/news/russell-crowe-does-robin-hood-rescue-for-crewmembers-car/25410?nc
There will be a solar eclipse on July 22. Fortune tellers are predicting disasters but scientists say that there's nothing to worry about--it's just a natural phenomenon. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20090720/sc_afp/scienceastronomyeclipseasiatourismsuperstition

Rehearsals are going well. I'm definitely getting a work out lol. Some of the dancing is a bit strenuous for this old gal but I'm a trooper and will keep up with the rest. Performances will be August 6-9 at Rock Solid Youth Center in Winona. As always, it's a fund raiser for them--support a great cause and get a good show. Tickets available at Rock Solid and both Midtown Foods in Winona.
I went on the bus trip with the radio station. A great time was had by all. If you ever get a chance to join in on one of these trips, don't pass it up. The price was very reasonable especially since it included the bus ride. We saw Saliva, Seether, Bare Naked Ladies (this was my favorite of the night), and then Sheryl Crow--just a fantastic day.
The Wienermobile crashed into a Wisconsin home on Friday. The occupants weren't home at the time and have been unable to be reached for comment. Won't they be surprised to come home to find an Oscar Meyer Wiener in their house? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090718/ap_on_fe_st/us_odd_wienermobile_wreck

A Wausau WI man flew a flag upside down as a sign of distress. He's been denied a liquor license after spending $200,000 on a building and remodeling so that he could open a restaurant. The police took the flag from him just 4 hours before a July 4 parade and brought it back the next day. He's an Iraq war veteran and can't believe that this type of thing would go on in this country. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090710/ap_on_re_us/us_upside_down_flag
