father and son reunited in Argentina

Abel Madariaga had never seen his son who was born in July of 1977. His pregnant wife was kidnapped and killed shortly after their son was born. One of the military officers had taken the child home to be raised as his own. Years later the marriage broke up and after years of wondering why he didn't look like his siblings and feeling like he didn't belong; the young man finally asked his mother about the truth. She tearfully told him and he got a DNA test to prove who he really was.

a hero emerges

David Benke doesn't consider himself a hero but officials are saying that he ended what could've been much worse. Two students were injured and have undergone surgery for their wounds from a shooting incident at their middle school in Littleton CO. One is recovering at home and the other has been transferred to another hospital.

Another American Idol contestant is under scrutiny after it was discovered that he was supposed to direct a play but it fell through. He charged parents $50 for the auditions but didn't return the money when there was no performance.

Beyonce surpasses all others

The RIAA rated albums, ringtones, videos, and digital songs...each getting 1 point for milestones in sales. Beyonce came out on top with 64. George Strait, The Eagles, Taylor Swift, and others also finished the decade with high numbers.

Greg Taylor had been convicted of murder in 1993 but maintained that he was innocent all these years. He lost all of his appeals but a N.C. Innocence Inquiry Commission asked that his case be reviewed.

American Idol

American Idol is down to the top 24 so now it's time to get serious and watch it every week. I've caught some of the audition shows but now is when I start picking my favorites. American Idol has made one change to the top 24. Chris Golightly was found ineligible and has been replaced by Tim Urban.

Tina Fey has never minded that she has a scar on her face and just chooses not to talk about it. But now Vogue magazine has airbrushed it out on their cover picture. I think sometimes magazines go to far with their idea of perfection--we're all perfect in out own little ways.

bankers that care

In this financial downturn, it seems difficult to find a banker that is helpful and actually cares. I found one in Winona. His name is Jerod and he was extremely helpful in getting some issues resolved with my daughter's accounts. I have Power of Attorney and had no problems taking care of things. Thanks Jerod.

should animals get court appointed attorneys?

There is a referendum on the ballot in Switzerland to provide lawyers for abused animals. Humans can hire attorneys but no one is there to represent the abused animal. The Swiss will vote on March 7.,8599,1963933,00.html?xid=yahoo-feat

It really is true that you can find treasure hidden in your house. One woman decided to sell her old Nintendo game system on ebay and ended up with $13,105. The biggest selling point was an old game included in the deal.

2" lego gun causes problems for 9 year old.

Patrick Timoney was playing with legos at lunchtime with a friend at school one day. All was fine until he put a gun in the hands of his lego police officer. The boy was treated terribly and threatened with suspension. After parents met with the principal, the boy was allowed to remain in school. Parents are upset that the principal went overboard.
