Underwater art


Artist Jason deCaires Taylor has made his work into reef saving sculptures. He creates beautiful statues and houses that he then lowers into the ocean to build artificial reefs. This is all in the hopes that marine life will live in and near the underwater museums. art

Rosie O'Donnell


Rosie hopes that her experience will help others. She revealed last week that she had a heart attack. Her type of heart attack is called the "widow maker" and she feels lucky to be alive. Luckily she remembered an ad that she had seen which contains a rhyme to help women remember the symptoms and then get help. She took an aspirin and eventually ended up in surgery to have a stent put in. Rosie

Goodbye Phyllis Diller


She was 95 when she passed on Monday, August 20 and will be greatly missed by friends, family, and fans. Her crazy hair was a mistake but it worked so she kept it. Her costumes were intentional though because she felt that pretty wouldn't be considered funny. Phyllis

Town wants man to move wife's grave


James Davis wants to keep his wife's remains right where they are--next to his front porch. The City of Stevenson AL has other plans. Davis will fight for her to stay where she is and even if a court tells him to move the grave, he says that he won't do it. He claims that it will have to be moved after he's gone. front yard grave

"Hell" costs student diploma


A valedictorian from Oklahoma is denied her diploma for using the word "hell" in her speech. When she submitted the speech for approval, it contained the word "heck" but "hell" is what came out. Jeff Gordon upset with Dale Earnhardt Jr.


In Michigan, Jeff Gordon was having an issue with Dale Jr's restarts. Gordon didn't like the hard racing which surprised Earnhardt. Some would say that's what racing is all about. Perhaps someone needs to stop throwing a temper tantrum when things don't go their way. racing teammates

Mother may lose custody because of "Toddlers and Tiaras"


Maddy Verst dressed as Dolly Parton complete with chest and bottom. Because of this, her father has sued for custody saying that the mother sexually exploited their daughter. A psychologist and a judge are agreeing with the father. This sets a dangerous precedent. Man is dog's best friend


In Bayfield, Wisconsin; Schoep and John became best friends 19 years ago when they rescued each other. Today Schoep isn't doing so well and John does what he can to alleviate the discomfort. In order to get the weight off of Schoep's legs, John takes him out into the waters of Lake Superior. This allows Schoep to get some very restful sleep. John only wanted a picture of him and his buddy while they were in the water so he asked a friend to help. She then posted the picture and it has gone viral. Best friends in the water.

No beer=emergency


Allen Troy Brooks called 911 to report he had no beer and ask for a ride to the store to get some. It got him a ride alright...to jail. He was charged with calling 911 in a non-emergency. He says that he made a mistake when trying to call a friend. His bond was $1500--that would've gotten him a cab ride and a whole lot of beers. 911 for beerLink

Groom swindled


Brian Valentine wanted the entertainment at his wedding to be special so he hired Tom Petty. His down payment was $165,000 but when repeated calls to the booking agent's supposed contacts went unanswered, he chose to contact Petty's people directly. He then discovered that he had not hired Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Instead he had been swindled out of all of that money and decided to report the happenings to the FBI. All is well in the end though; the fake booking agent has been arrested and Tom Petty was available to play at the wedding. wedding entertainment

Tragedy at a NASCAR race

Sunday's Pocono 400 was a rain-shortened race. Jeff Gordon wins because he was leading when NASCAR officials decided to call it quits. Race fans were told to take cover but unfortunately one fan was killed in the parking lot by lightning. Nine other fans were sent to the hospital with injuries. The moon wants in on the Olympics
