Lee wins it

Lee was chosen as season 9 American Idol winner.
It was nice to see the past winners all together in one song. I only counted 7--shouldn't there be 8?

Gaga over Glee

The smash hit Glee took on Lady Gaga and Kiss this week. A little lesson in acceptance and prejudice were also included. Finn gets kicked out of Kurt's house shortly after moving in. Rachel finds her mother and then loses her. It looks like the football team and the glee club are in for some clashes. story and video

who will win Idol?

It's down to Crystal or Lee. From the performances tonight, I think that Crystal has it but the trend has been for a guy to win. I do like Lee's style much more than Crystal's but I also feel that Crystal brings something unique to the table. Guy songs are so much easier to sing--perhaps that's why the guys are winning lately. who wins?

goodbye to Casey James

It was no surprise to me that Casey James went home last night. He was a favorite of mine early on but as the weeks went by, he just lost his appeal. It's down to Crystal and Lee. I hope that Lee takes it. casey goes home

Dyersville, Iowa is home to the movie set for "Field of Dreams." The owners have decided to retire and put it up for sale. For only $5.4 million it can be yours. Big Mike goes home

All four were good on Tuesday night but somebody had to go home. It ended up being Big Mike (Michael Lynche). When it came down to the last two on Wednesday's show, it was quite apparant that it was Mike that was done. All the hype about Crystal having the best shot to win and there she stood next to Mike. Even he knew it was over way before they announced it. Mike singing his last song

Lady Gaga upset with Idol

Lady Gaga's performance was edited down to 5 minutes (probably because of time constraints) on Wednesday's airing of American Idol. Studio audience members were forced to stay in their seats for an extra hour and a half while Lady Gaga rehearsed. They should be the ones upset. fox's version of the video

Happy 50th anniversary to 'The Fantasticks'

It's been 50 years since 'The Fantasticks' began it's run. It is the longest running musical. We are continuing that legacy with our very own version at Rock Solid in Winona. Performances run through Sunday. Opening night (Thursday) was great even with a few mistakes but the cast is excited to get back at it tonight. The audience was very receptive and laughed at all the right places. Tickets are going fast--call Rock Solid in Winona or get them at Midtown Foods and HyVee both in Winona. Together we can save the youth center!!! 50 years

American Idol Fizzles

Season 9 has been less than fantastic and it seems to be sliding ever further into the abiss. Tuesday night's show got the lowest ratings since it's first season and as I watched the performances, it was all I could do to keep from yawning. Of course Aaron Kelly went home which leaves only 4.
