Cat Visits the Bathroom

The Publisher of a small Oklahoma newspaper got a shock when he went to the bathroom at his office.  A bobcat had gotten in through an open door and was in the bathroom hissing at him.  He simply backed out, closed the door, and called animal control.  Luckily they were able to safely remove the large cat and release it in a more appropriate environment.  No people or animals were harmed.  I think after that encounter, I wouldn't need the bathroom anymore.  Source: Yahoo News

Prius Hating Moose

A woman in Alaska was out walking her dog and returned home to find a moose destroying her Prius.  There was nothing she could do but watch.  Luckily the moose only took it out on her car and her mailbox.  Her and the dog remained safe but she did get it on video.  Source: UPI

Beer Cooler Theft

In Marshfield, WI, a man found himself locked in a beer cooler overnight at a Kwik Trip.  He was there most of the night until someone notified the manager that someone was in the cooler.  When employees opened the door, he left the store quickly but was arrested a short time later.  He was picked up on an outstanding warrant not related to this case where he was barred from drinking alcohol.  I guess the temptation of being in that cooler was too much for him.  I think I know a couple people who wouldn't be able to control themselves either.  Source: UPI

Fox Steals Golf Ball

A fox on a golf course may have thought that a golf ball was a tasty egg.  A golfer had put his ball on the tee and watched as a fox snatched the ball and ran away with it.  The golfer gave chase and managed to get his ball back when the frightened fox dropped it.  He managed to get video of the theft.  What I want to know is, does that count as a stroke?  Source: UPI

Idiots of the Century

How stupid can people get?  Four men in Australia took pictures of themselves in a crocodile trap.  It was loaded with raw meat to catch a large croc that has been blamed for a fatal attack in the area.  What sort of idiot thinks that it's ok to swim into an area specifically there to attract a large killer crocodile?  Source: UPI

Chewbacca

A driver in Atlanta was stuck in traffic and noticed something strange behind him.  Chewbacca was also stuck. Now if Chewbacca were in the Millenium Falcon, perhaps he wouldn't have to wait like the other drivers.  He could just blast out of the space port and get to his destination quicker.
His passenger took video to prove it.  Source: UPI

Eviction Notice

A mother was due with her third child and she was so ready for baby to arrive.  She went to work as a judicial assistant in the Fourth District Court in Provo, Utah, and jokingly asked a judge to sign an eviction notice to the baby girl.  Judge Davis went along with it and signed the notice.  Twelve hours later, the baby made her appearance in the world.  Mom is happy that she "listened" rather than be in contempt of court.  Source: Yahoo News

Lucky Diver

A diver got separated from his boat and had to swim back to shore.  He had 4 miles of water between him and dry land but he knew he had to go for it.  John Craig swam for three hours which is a feat in itself but he did it while being stalked by a deadly tiger shark.  He swam with his spear gun facing backwards so that he could jab at the shark to get it to back away giving John a moment to swim before the shark returned.  The creature finally gave up the pursuit and John made it to shore where he was rescued.  He was lucky to make it.  Source: Sky News

Pumpkin Boats

Tualatin, Oregon, has a boating race like none other.  Boaters hollow out large pumpkins, don interesting costumes, and paddle across the water. Spectators line the shore to watch the spectacle even if it's raining.  The Pumpkin Regatta is in it's 14th year.  Source: UPI

Spam

I've been to the Spam museum in Austin, MN, and have tried the canned meat but I'm not overly enthusiastic about eating it.  I've heard that there are people who just can't get enough of the stuff.  I don't understand that but each to their own.  In Hawaii Spam is very popular; so popular that it is stolen from stores and sold on the street.  One store owner says that Spam is now stolen more often than alcohol.  Source: Yahoo News

Fined For Singing

I would never think that singing along with a song in your car would get you a ticket, but that's what happened in Canada.  A man was singing along to his favorite song in his car when he was pulled over.  When the lights on the squad car started flashing, he thought that they just wanted him to move out of the way but it was him they were after.  He was given a ticket for "screaming" even though he tried to explain to the police that he was just singing along to a song.  Apparently screaming in your car is illegal in Quebec.  The man plans to fight the ticket.  Source: UPI

Drug Dog

A US couple tried to enter California with nearly 2 pounds of meth inside a toy stuffed dog.  That wasn't fooling a real dog who quickly noted the presence of narcotics.  The drugs and the car were impounded and the couple is now facing charges for the $6,000 worth of drugs found in their possession.  Source: UPI

Halloween Decoration

A man in Ohio has been building halloween decorations for years and each year they get bigger and more elaborate.  This year he has built an AT-AT walker from Star Wars.  It's two stories high and has been attracting onlookers.  He started building in April and said that it was a weekend project.  Friends would come over on weekends and help build the pieces.  When they were all finished, the AT-AT was assembled.  Source: UPI

Living in the Woods

A British man ran away from home.  Yep, an adult can do it too.  He claims that after he got married, his wife nagged him way too much and he decided he couldn't take it anymore.  He lived in the woods for 10 years before being coaxed out by a non-profit group that gives a person a place to live and a job if they really need it.  A friend told him about the opportunity and he's now happy in his new home.  There's no word on what happened to his wife but he did contact his sister who thought he was dead.  Source: Fox News

Loyal Friend

A german shepherd dog was rescued from the side of a busy highway in New Jersey.  Police had received calls about two dogs along the interstate and when they responded, they found a pit bull was already dead and the other one refusing to leave it's side.  They managed to lure the german shepherd into the patrol car and it was taken to an animal shelter.  Now, that's a real loyal friend!  Source: ABC

Speed Trap

A man in Pennsylvania set up a fake speed trap near his home.  He used flashing dashboard lights in his vehicle to slow the traffic going by his house.  His complaints about the speeders got no results so he took matters into his own hands hoping that slowing the drivers would stop deer from being killed and stinking up the area.  He said that the tactic was working but he's the one who got the ticket.  He's being charged with impersonating a public servant and displaying improper lights.  Source: Yahoo News

Prepper Donates

Joseph Badame and his wife had been preppers since 1970.  They spent about a million dollars outfitting their basement with several kitchens, bathrooms, and a bomb shelter.  It was filled with survival manuals and enough food to feed 84 people for 4 months.  Unfortunately his wife suffered a massive stroke in 2005.  Joseph refinanced their home for a half-million dollars and used the money to care for his wife until her passing in 2013.  At that point he was broke.  He lost his wife, had no job, and his home was in foreclosure.  At the estate sale, he met a couple  that gave him a new purpose in his life.  He donated $100 to the couple who were raising money for hurricane victims in Puerto Rico. But above and beyond that, he gave the couple his entire stockpile of 80 barrels of dried beans, rice, flour, sugar, pancake mixes, and more.  Source: Yahoo News

News From the Future

A Wyoming man told police that he was from the year 2048 and he had come back to warn of aliens coming to earth and that we should all leave immediately.  Casper, WY, police arrested Bryant Johnson on suspicion of public intoxication.  He had a blood alcohol content of .136 and was slurring his speech.  The aliens are supposed to arrive in 2018.  Bryant was supposed to arrive that year as well but was sent back a year to early.  Won't we be surprised if this turns out to be true?  Source: Huffpost

A burglar who broke into a restaurant in New York also cooked himself a meal while he was there.  He was caught on security cameras using the kitchen like a pro.  After he was done eating, he washed the dishes and cleaned the area including the floor.  Both the manager and the owner were impressed with his skills.  Source: UPI

Escaped Prisoners

Two women broke out of a prison on Monday and were found on Tuesday in an Escape Room.  That's a bit ironic.  They managed to escape prison by climbing over a fence and then were checking out the escape rooms the following day.  A police officer entered the business and asked it the inmates were there and then called for backup.  Escapees arrested in escape room...it just seems like karma.  Source: UPI

Granny's in Jail

You have to love your grandson so, so much if you are ok with being in jail for them.  A grandma in Martinsburg, WV, delivered drugs to her grandson while he was in jail.  The drugs were smuggled into the jail sealed in 22 straws.  She was busted and now is behind bars as well.  I love my kids and grandkids but never would I break the law for any of them.  Source: Yahoo News

Giant Spider

Traffic Scotland announced that a very large spider was hovering over the M8 Motorway.  They advised drivers to avoid the area and if they were already there, to run away..."run as fast as you can" they wrote on Twitter.  The tongue in cheek post came after a spider was seen on a traffic cam making it look like a giant arachnid was hovering over the roadway.  Twitter followers even got in on the fun with their responses.  The monstrous spider disappeared before any "real" damage was done.  Perhaps back to it's secret lair.  Source: UPI

Car Thief

A man in Japan tried to steal a car.  That in itself is a stupid thing to do but he tried to steal an unmarked police car with the police sitting inside.  That's going to be an interesting conversation in jail when the other inmates ask why he's there.  Source: UPI
