Ayla Brown who just happens to be the daughter of newly elected Senator Scott Brown has an album out even though she was rejected by American Idol. The reviews are mixed so far.

does the song, "Pants on the ground," belong to General Larry Platt?

A video has been posted on youtube saying that "Pants on the ground" is not Larry Platt's song but that it was recorded in 1996 by someone else. There are differences but many similarities as well. Check it out here.

Andy Dick arrested

Comedian Andy Dick was arrested in West Virginia on two felony counts of sexual abuse. One for grabbing the crotch of a bouncer and the other for groping and kissing a male patron. The owner of the comedy club where Andy Dick is to perform posted his bail and still has him on for the weekend.

from telethon to competition

Now that the Cancer telethon is over for this year, I can concentrate on my Local Vocal competition this Thursday. Performances start at 7pm and will be held at Riverport Inn in Winona. All proceeds from ticket sales goes to Big Brothers Big Sisters. This is the first year that I will be competing against my son. We both auditioned and both got spots in the top 10. It doesn't matter if we move on, I'm just feeling lucky to get this far.

Royal Caribbean cruises to continue making stops in Haiti

Royal Caribbean has a private resort on the country's northern coast which was undamaged during the quake. They feel that bringing tourists to the island will aid in financial recovery efforts along with their pledge of $1 million for quake relief. what are the chances of a meteorite hitting a building?

Astronomical but a doctor in Lorton, VA had a close call with a meteorite on Monday. He was doing paperwork later in the afternoon and heard a loud boom. Upon investigating, he found three pieces of what he thought was a rock. Turns out it was a meteorite and probably was traveling at 220 mph when it hit the building.

Walmart is trying a new program in some California stores. Customes will have to pay for the plastic bags to carry their items. It's a push to go green. Walmart will offer reusable bags at a low price.,1554390

American Idol

Wednesday night's show ended with 62-year-old "General" Larry Platt singing his own song, "Pants on the ground." Although he's too old to be a contestant, he had three of the judges singing along while Simon tried to quiet them all.

8-year-old on watch list

Mikey Hicks is 8 years old and has been subjected to extra scrutiny and searches at airports. He just happens to have the same name as someone who is on the watch list but he is paying the price for the other Michael Hicks. His mother said that at first it was amusing but that soon turned to anger.

Two Dixie Chicks?

The sisters from the Dixie Chicks are putting out an album later this year without the lead singer. Martie Maguire and Emily Robison will record on their own but the Dixie Chicks are still in tact.

tattooing children?

Parents in Georgia were arrested for tattooing their 6 children and are facing charges. Patty Marsh and her husband Jacob Edwards were arrested after they used a homemade device to tattoo their children. The children are 10 to 17 years old. Marsh said her children wanted tattoos and she didn't do anything wrong. "I don't understand why this got blowed up so big. I love my children. We'd never do anything to harm our kids," said Marsh.
