Unlikely hero--Giant Tortoises

Aldabra giant tortoises have been introduced to the tiny island of Ile aux Aigrettes, off the coast of the island nation of Mauritius. The indigenous tortoises are extinct and this was causing the ecosystem to degrade. The Aldabra are closely related to the original inhabitants and hopefully will restore the natural order of the island. tortoises
