Historic Carousel

Jane Walenta and her husband bought a carousel which was set to be parted out. They paid $385,000 and set out to restore it to it's original luster. It now stands in the DUMBO (Down under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) neighborhood. For $2, riders can enjoy views of the East River, Brooklyn, and the Manhattan skyline. It is described as a "transparent jewel box" and at night after the carousel is no longer running, there will be screens inside the pavilion that will act as a backdrop for lights shows. carousel
